Being This

I would like Being This to be written by the people who have come together through NotAlone365. Everyone who has joined the forum has their own private reason for doing so. Some are happy to share that reason openly with other members. Others are observers and prefer to keep their presence unknown.

Whoever you are, this story is for you and could also be written partly by you if you would like. You can add to it at any time, anonymously or otherwise, by adding the next section in the comments below. I will then post the contributions to the main text and republish.

Have fun with it. I would love for it to contain something of as many members as possible.

Enjoy!

Being This

He fumbled in his pocket for the keys, then moodily threw off a glove and rifled again … the dull irritation in the pit of his gut rising as he realized they weren’t there. “Fffuuuck” his entire inner being screamed as anger surged upwards through his whole body and he visualised punching himself in the face yet again for his negligence. Why  do I NEVER put them where I can frickin FIND them.

He threw his rucksack onto the step, ripped open the zip and tipped the bag upside down, paraphernalia bouncing as it hit the ground and scattered onto the grass.”FUUCKKK”, this time he shouted it aloud. He didn’t care who heard him. No keys. He slumped himself sideways into the wall and pushed his hands hard into his cheekbones until the pain in his neck grew so great that he felt tears prick the back of his eyes. He winced as the elves danced in his head and an avalanche of images stormed through his sanity, crashing him from a place outside his house to somewhere very far off where no-one could reach him any more.

He remembered everything he had been trying to forget. It seemed to him wildly ironic that something as simple and mundane as a missing bunch of keys should have reminded him of the happiest yet most harrowing moment of his life before hope died….before he saw the world and his life for what it really was. Would he ever find his way out….
